Angela and Brad's Romantic Vineyard Wedding

I just love low key, romantic weddings. Angela and Brad picked a beautiful new venue, Faithbrooke Barn and Vineyards, to celebrate their vows and it couldn’t have been more fun and filled with love. Angela’s uncle married the two under an arbor overlooking the vines and the celebration carried on into the stunning new barn made just for events. The bridal party was full of enthusiastic members who insisted on tossing our bride in the air for good luck. The food was great & the speeches sweet & heartfelt before I was able to scoop up the couple for some beautiful sunset photos with the Blue Ridge Mountains behind them. After that, I was in awe of how many people at this wedding could cut a rug! The dancing was nonstop, save for a brief song where Brad and his brothers serenaded Angela with an amazing rendition of Righteous Brothers “That Loving Feeling”.

Bridget and Brendan's Gorgeous St. Aloysius Church Wedding

Bridget and Brendan celebrated their wedding in perfect Washington, D.C. fashion. Going back to Brendan’s Gonzaga roots, they chose to get married in the gorgeous St. Aloysius Church. Bridget wore a glamorous dress that gave a nod to the classic ladies of Washington and also had a beautiful tartan scarf honoring her family’s heritage. The reception brought everyone to Georgetown’s bustling waterfront for dinner and dancing at a city mainstay, Sequoia. The simple, romantic floral decoration complimented the bright and airy space for dinner and once the sun went down, the Rita’s Ice stand came out to keep the party animals cool while they danced the night away to the sounds of one of my favorite bands, D.C. Fusion.

Natalie and Kevin's Vineyard Wedding at Potomac Point Winery

Natalie and Kevin had a beautiful day for their ceremony among the vines of Potomac Point. Rich purples complimented sage green hues in their decor, with a personal touch. We were able to take some amazing photos in the vines and in the barrel room (always a favorite spot)! For the reception, their band, Make More Animals, rocked out! My 90’s alternative music loving heart was in heaven as I watched Natalie, Kevin, and all their friends dance the night away.

Dawn & Steven's Gramercy Mansion Wedding

Dawn & Stevens wedding was a fairy tale. Officially. Ive never been more in awe of the level of creativity the couple brought to life and the attention to detail all the vendors gave the day. Dawn wanted an English garden theme and it was delivered! The couple married on the front lawn of the tudor style mansion, among luscious florals, exquisite crystals as well as family and friends. They also, had their four legged fur babies a part of their ceremony as well. After the ceremony, they were whisked away by two gallant white percheron horses (Colonel and Ozzy) where they met their wedding party for photos in the lower gardens. Gramercys grounds are a photographers dream location and they didnt disappoint. We had an amazing time capturing the couples happiness.

The reception area inside the mansion was a fantasy. Purple lanterns and wisteria adorned the ceiling and elaborate centerpieces and candlelight made the room sparkle. The room was filled with family and friends from all over and the night, complete with a dinner menu designed by the bride, was a beautiful flow of celebration. Check out their photos below!

Sabrina and Leonid's Traditional Holud Ceremony

What a wonderful experience! Sabrina and Leonid brought us in to capture their Holud Ceremony at the beautiful Woodend Sanctuary. The evening was just perfect! The Holud ceremony is an Indian wedding tradition that involves family members rubbing turmeric paste on the bride and groom to cleanse the skin (turmeric is said to give the skin a healthy glow) in preparation for the next day’s religious ceremony. The couple is also fed sweets before the night’s singing and dancing begins. Sabrina’s celebration garments were full of color and intricately gorgeous, and not to be outdone, Leonid’s traditional garments were beautiful as well. They were a vision together! Despite the overwhelming stress Indian weddings can put on couples, Sabrina and Leonid placed their faith in the capable hands of Kim Newton Weddings to handle the details, and went about a fantasy photo session with us in the storybook grounds of Woodend Sanctuary.

After our photo sessions the night was filled with family blessings and performances honoring the lucky couple. Between being serenaded with original songs, plays, and choreographed dance routines, Sabrina and Leonid were overwhelmed with the outpouring of love. It was a beautiful and exciting night! As a special surprise, their wedding (and one of our photos!) was even featured in The Washington Post’s style column “On Love”.
